I have truly enjoyed the course. It was well structured, and the information was presented to us in the right pace so it was possible to take it all in. Everyone at ILSPA was very helpful, friendly and professional, and Seamus was absolutely fantastic. He delivered the material in a very enthusiastic manner and with an excellent sense of humour, so the classes were not only very informative and useful, but also fun. Overall, I found the course very educational and feel more confident looking for work as a Legal Secretary. I am sure I will come across many challenges when I eventually get the desired role, however the course gave me a good foundation to build on and I would definitely recommend ILSPA to anyone looking for a Legal Secretary course.

It really makes a difference knowing that there is a team behind you

I wanted to let you know that after completing the Legal Secretarial Diploma I am about to start my first legal secretarial job. I had an interview earlier this week and they have agreed to take me on for a fortnight's work trial, which I am delighted about. It is primarily a legal aid firm specialising in criminal work and I feel I can learn a lot there. It also has the advantage of only being a couple of bus rides away from where I live and I won't have to venture underground at any point! Having completed the diploma I had the confidence to apply for the position, despite not having any experience in the field. I think having the diploma on my CV got me the interview, and showed them that I was serious about wanting a career in the legal field, as opposed to any old typing job. They also spoke about wanting somebody they could "develop", which could mean a paralegal career in the future. Thank you so much for your support throughout the course. It really makes a difference knowing that there is a team behind you. I'd like to carry on with my membership of the Institute and would have no hesitation in recommending the course to other people.

I have gained valuable knowledge of the law

I would like to express my appreciation towards the wonderful and informative course the Institute has provided. It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in pursuing a career as a Legal Secretary. I would not have been offered the job if I had not done the Legal Secretaries course

I am delighted to be able to inform the Institute that I have successfully applied for a legal position in the social housing sector, at an organisation in Clapham, as a Legal Administrator/Paralegal. I am due to commence at the end of February. I will be supporting the Head of Legal Services and two solicitors, and have been promised that the role will be varied and very interesting, with the opportunity to regularly attend Court. Not only is the job £4,000 more than what I am currently earning, it is also nearer to where I live. I know I would not have been offered the job if I had not done the Legal Secretaries course.

I believe that this Diploma played a big part in securing my position as a Legal Secretary

Well, let me start by saying that I have already gained employment within a local firm of Solicitors as a secretary and I believe it is with the help of my employers being aware of my interest in law and taking the option of enrolling myself on a course, that has helped me to obtain this position. I joined a firm of solicitors as a Legal Secretary in November last year with extensive office experience but no legal background. I have found this course informative and practical to assist with day to day duties. My new skills are proving to be of great benefit for my employer

I have found the course to be professionally rewarding and since commencement and by putting knowledge into practice, I have been given more responsibility at work and have secured a performance related increase in salary.
